About the BellaOnline Container Gardening Editor
Lestie Mulholland
My name is Lestie Mulholland and I live in Johannesburg, South Africa. My professional career was in Life Skills training, Recruitment and Event Management and I am now the Marketing and Liaison Officer for The Institute of Inventors and Innovators and concurrently I am a Tutor in English language for Grades 1-6 plus. Besides writing for BellaOnline, I write flash fiction, short stories, articles and newsletters and I am working on a murder mystery novella. I have a love of beautiful buildings, ‘old’ things, conversation; art; music and gardening. Creative hobbies? They include mosaic and pewter work.
CONTAINER GARDENING? I have been gardening for a very long time. I’ve always been intrigued with things that grow and way back then, after completing a 12-month course in horticulture, one of the ‘things’ I did was to start up and run a gardening circle. This was much the same as a book club. Those particular days are over, but we had fun swapping plants and info, going to open-garden visits and just smelling the roses in general, yep, we took the time to do so.
Though raised in a farming area in Zimbabwe, I have lived with and in small spaces all my life so learning about, loving and conquering container gardening has been a natural part of living for as long as I can remember!
Trial and Error are my middle names so I hope to share all the joys, challenges, creativity and lessons learnt with you through this BellaOnline site, the more so to inspire, help and support your own expeditions in container gardening.
